Located in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Franklin & Marshall’s 200-acre campus includes historic and modern academic buildings, state-of-the-art athletic spaces and dynamic performance and arts centers.
Living Learning Communities
Part of the F&M Summer Scholars program is experiencing campus life. Based on age and grade level, all Summer Scholars belong to a House, an F&M tradition. Houses take part in activities, service projects, and meals together. Whether you are a residential or commuter scholar, you’ll meet new friends from around the country and world.
F&M’s house system steps beyond the traditional college dorm by providing a space for students to participate in a true living learning community, as well as relax with friends. Overseen by Residential Counselors, students will live in small age-appropriate groups that encourage cooperation and responsibility. Males and females are housed separately.
A Commuter Scholars option is available. Visit the FAQ section for more details.
Hot and cold meals are available at breakfast, lunch and dinner on campus. Kosher, vegetarian and gluten-free choices are available, and dining services will work with families of students who have food allergies to provide safe options. Three meals a day are provided as part of the tuition for both Residential and Commuter programs.
Scholars enjoy the F&M campus with their residential house peers through special events and participating in daily activities, which include:
- Baseball, basketball, soccer, squash, swimming, tennis, ultimate frisbee and volleyball, just to name a few
- Nature hikes and exploring
- Creative and performing arts
- Team building
Optional SAT Prep for an additional fee
Weekends for Summer Scholars
Time spent learning and exploring outside the classroom adds to the Summer Scholars experience. Weekends are full of fun social activities and exciting experiences, designed to develop strengths and challenge creative ways of thinking.
Each weekend, scholars will have exciting opportunities to explore communities around them in new and more meaningful ways. Day trips are designed to enhance their Summer Scholars experience with adventure.
We offer regular opportunities for religious practice. If Franklin & Marshall Summer Scholar’s families have questions surrounding the ability to attend worship services throughout the weekend, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
F&M Spirit Days
Meant for friendly competition and fun, F&M Spirit Days put the leadership development skills and teamwork learned throughout the week to the test. A range of activities will be run on Sundays for each House to score as many points as possible, culminating in the ‘House Spirit’ award given out on the last Thursday of each session. Spirit Days are about packing as much fun and excitement into the day as possible!
